Membership Campaign ~ Friends of the Arc: Helping Families


This has been a very difficult and challenging year budget wise on both the state and national level.  What we have learned through this process is ADVOCACY WORKS!    Based on the hard work of our advocates throughout the state, many key programs were ultimately spared devastating cuts including Family Support, Day Habilitation, Adult Foster/Family Care and Adult Day Health.

Here are the reasons you, your family, friends and co-workers should become members of The United Arc:

  • The United Arc’s track record of success, with 60 years of providing high quality, innovative programs, services and advocacy.
  • We are well managed with staff who have many years of experience. 
  • We keep families together and support people to live as independently as possible.  We save taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars each year with services that are cost effective. 
  • Budgets cuts on the Federal and State level are a reality.  We must rely on gifts to expand our programs and to continue our sevices.
  • With oversight and support of our Donors, Members, Board of Directors, and our talented staff, we continually raise the bar.  We identify and organize around family needs, marshaling the resources to keep families together and improve their daily lives.
  • We focus on “Abilities” not “Disabilities”.
  • It is an investment in your community.

Your membership means a lot to us!  By lending us your name and voice to a movement that impacts our community, you are showing your support of our Mission and bringing local awareness to our excellent work. 

- Members actively participate in activities that give visibility to our work.
- Members vote on important issues impacting the organization.
- Members elect officers and advocate to legislators on our behalf.

As a member you will receive our member’s only newsletter, be invited to participate in various meetings, conferences, trainings and workshops; and receive advance notification of our special events including our Annual Auction and the Annual Meeting.  You will also automatically become a member of The Arc of Massachusetts as well as The Arc, the national organization of the U.S.

 

To become a member of The United Arc, fill out the membership form below or download a PDF version.  Payment for membership can be handled via credit card or Paypal. Payments can also be mailed to The United Arc office at 111 Summer Street, Greenfield, MA 01301. Please include membership form with payment.

Gifts can also be made to the Martin Endowment or Kravitz Endowments. If you would like to make a gift, please contact Sandy Sayers, Development Director, 413-774-5558 x1058 or sandysayers@unitedarc.org. You may also check the Additional Gift box on the membership form.
