Advocacy Works – 5 Reasons to become a member of The United Arc
Here are 5 reasons you, your family, friends and co-workers should become members of The Arc:
#1 – We are at a critical juncture in our national budget process where the level of Medicaid/Medicare provided to the developmentally & intellectually disabled is in jeopardy. Strong advocacy at the national level will assist in potentially averting these cuts.
#2 – Concerns with the impact of state budgets on key programs will not be disappearing. It’s estimated that state budget levels will remain at critical levels for several years to come.
#3 – As a national organization with 700 state and local chapters, serving more than 1 million people, we are the nation’s leading advocacy and service organization for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There is strength in numbers!
#4 – We have restructured our membership program to give a variety of benefits including special get-togethers quarterly with other Arc members. We are also providing both individual and family membership options.
#5 – Even with our current strong advocacy levels, there is so much more to be done! A national survey by The Arc shows 85% of families reported their adult family member was not employed. 46% of parents and caregivers report they have more care giving responsibilities than they can handle.

Individual Patron – $100 – $499
Individual Leadership $500 and above
Family Friend – $100 - $199
Family Patron – $200 – $599
Family Leadership $600 and above
To become a member of United Arc, fill out the membership form below or download a PDF version. Payment for membership can be handled via credit card or Paypal. Payments can also be mailed to the United Arc office at 111 Summer Street, Greenfield, MA 01301. Please include membership form with payment.
Gifts can also be made to the Martin Endowment or Kravitz Endowments. If you would like to make a gift, please contact Willow Ross, Office Manager, 413-774-5558 x1011 or willowross@unitedarc.org. You may also check the Additional Gift box on the membership form.
