Get Involved!
— The United Arc
of Franklin and Hampshire Counties
You can make a difference in
the life of someone with a developmental
disability.
Contribute your time:
Do you enjoy
children? Do you
like to meet new people?
Become a friend and
guide to a family headed by a parent
with a cognitive disability – tutor
a child, attend school events, play
games, go to the library, offer a listening
ear, prepare a meal together, open your heart!
Do you like
to garden? Fish? Shop? Knit or Sew? Attend
sporting events?
Take walks?
Go Bicycling? Eat out? Play
games? Go to movies or plays?
Are you a
computer geek? Do you
like cars?
Share your interests with an adult with
a disability!
Do you love your
work?
Do you need extra
help at your place of employment?
Offer a teen or adult to a chance to
learn new job skills and make their own important
contribution as a volunteer, intern or as a
new employee.
Share your resources – many people
live on limited incomes.
We currently have requests for the following:
A dining room table with sturdy chairs, big enough to fit 4 to 6 people
Sponsor a membership at the YMCA
or at a recreation program or camp
Help cover the cost of emergency
supply kits ($50 per kit)
Get involved with the Arc:
Join a committee – there are
opportunities to assist with fundraising
activities, help with advocacy projects,
guide program development, advise on personnel
and fiscal issues, and monitor human rights
concerns.
Help with special projects – assist
at special events, with mailings, or grant
research.
