Services The United Arc
of Franklin and Hampshire Counties
The United
Arc provides a flexible array of services for
families that care for or include a family
member with mental retardation or other developmental
and intellectual disabilities. Primary
services include:
General Family
Support – Provided to
families caring for a family member who meets
eligibility criteria with the Department of
Mental Retardation (DMR.). Service
options include case management, financial
assistance to pay for goods or services
that benefit the individual with the
disability, educational and service advocacy,
family networking, family support groups,
periodic training workshops, information
and referral, and publication of the
Family Support Update.
DOE/DMR Services – Longer-term
intensive level of family support and case
management provided to families caring
for a child under the age of 18, with the
intent of preventing residential placement
of the child.
DSS Transition Project – Preparation
for adulthood and transitional services
for teens who are in the process of leaving
foster care or who have been under the
auspices of the Department of Social Services(DSS).
