United Arc - Adult Services

The United Arc provides a variety of services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that promote personal well-being and self-fulfillment as individuals live and work in the community.

Primary Arc services provided for adults include:

  • Community Support Program — Varying levels of support based in individual need is provided to adults living semi-independently in individual homes throughout the community.

  • Group Residential Homes — Intensive support to adults living in a group setting.

Eligibility and Referral

Adults served through group residential programs and the community support program are referred through the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS).

Certification — Licensure

Adult services are licensed and certified by DDS’s Office of Quality Management which reviews the following areas: rights and dignity, personal well-being, self-empowerment & exercise of individual control, community and social connections, and personal growth and accomplishment.  In October 2009 with distinction, The United Arc received a Two-Year License and Certification in all areas of review.
